The new user signup page is half way through completion. The full version should be completed within the next 48-72 hours, if not sooner. The current signup page includes half the reading as before, and is a lot more user-friendly. The final signup v3.0 will include far more Ajax based code for verification and be far more efficient and user-friendly without the annoying formatting rules. Please keep posted for further details.
