Synopsis
The Hyakunin Isshu, meaning one hundred people, one poem each, are used in many popular games such as the uta-garuta cards from the game Karuta. Personally selected by Fujiwara no Teika the cards consist of a large collection of romantic poems. A glimpse into the meaning and origins of these cards is revealed through liberal interpretation focusing on romanticism within Japan.
