Synopsis
Kasuna Arata finds out that his home town was destroyed one morning due to a "breakdown phenomenon". He and his childhood friend are the only survivors, that is, until she starts disappearing before his very eyes. She has just enough time to give him a Grimoire before she disappears. Seconds later he is attacked by a mage that was sent to destroy him. Given two options of survival, either die now or have all his memories erased, he opts for a third option; become a mage himself! He vows to find his friend and thus undergoes extensive training. He also finds himself butting heads with an organization that is out to destroy the world!
