Synopsis
Hiko Seijuro returns to the site of a bandit raid where he saved a young orphan boy Shinta only to notice that the boy has buried the bodies of the dead, including the bandits. Shinta tells Hiko of his frustration of not being able to protect the three women that sacrificed their lives for him. Hiko decides to take Shinta on as his apprentice and give him the new name Kenshin. Several years of training have passed and Kenshin has taken on the job as an assassin in order to protect the innocent. Kenshin is faced with the harsh realization that he must kill in order to protect, going against his master’s philosophies. He must now find his own path in the mist of war.
