Synopsis
Earth is in ruins, much of its environment devastated, following an interplanetary war at the start of the twenty-first century. The people are compelled to leave this planet because it is no longer feasible to live a regular life there. Hopefully, life will be more comfortable on other planets. Somehow, the Deep Galactic Trade Organization, an oppressive government that rule over many of the recently colonized planets, has decided that music is a vehicle for evil and should be permanently outlawed and eliminated. Immediately after, the original AKB48 members who had previously resided on Earth form the basis of the talent group AKB0048. They make it their duty to revive their music by touring the world and doing as many performances as they can, despite the fact that it is currently outlawed everywhere. To become the greatest, they can be and stay out of the constant threat of getting jailed for their music, they have to go through an entirely new set of training techniques.
